I am in a link building stage of this blog. I always check my backlinks through Site Explorer and I observe the changes of the order of my backlinks more so often.

It seems that they are ordering my inbound links by the perceived quality of the site. But I am not sure about this.

Taking a quick look at one of my sites I certainly didn’t see any hierarchy that made sense even on the first page. An off topic blog comment showing on the first page of results wouldn’t seem to make sense as a “high quality link”.

Still mostly stronger sites at the top of first page, but the order doesn’t seem as direct an indication of the strength of the link.

It maybe far interesting if the order of the backlinks depend on PageRank.
